Summary of our Launch Day
On March 8, in celebration of International Women’s Day, Unbound Symphony officially launched, marking the beginning of a new professional orchestra of women performing music by women, while reimagining how musicians gather, create, and lead.
Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we not only met, but surpassed our initial fundraising goal of $20K.
We are energized by this early momentum and invite you to follow our journey as we prepare for our debut in July 2026.
During the launch event, founding musicians Dr. Sarah Bassingthwaighte, Dr. Kate MacKenzie, and Bhavani Kotha performed Brush Strokes Trio by Alyssa Morris.

Brush Strokes is a musical depiction of specific works of art. Each movement briefly tells the story of a particular artist and their painting technique.
